School Services Standard License-Counselor (18-0000000030)

The Indiana Professional Standards Board is the state agency responsible for the licensing of school counselors in the state of Indiana. School Services Standard License - Counselor. To be qualified for the School Services Standard License-Counselor, candidates must have: One (1) of the following professional experiences: Two (2) years of creditable teaching experience; A valid out-of state school counseling license and one (1) year of experience as a school counselor in another state. A minimum of one (1) year of school counseling internship in a school setting under the supervision of an institution of higher education that has been approved for training school counselors. A master's degree in counseling or a related field from a regionally accredited institution with 30 semester hours in counseling and guidance at the graduate level. Knowledge or competencies in the following core areas of study: Counseling theory; Human growth and development; Social and cultural foundations; The helping relationship; Group dynamics, processing, and counseling; Lifestyle and career development.
